In the process you'll gain exposure to a diverse array of fun and interesting projects for clients in multiple industries, from healthcare to stadiums to college campuses and more. We created this role to help accommodate our ongoing growth, and you will support the Project Manager as a "jack of all trades" in just about every area. Depending on your aptitude and interests, we might shape the role to emphasize some areas over others. For example, if you have a talent for customer relations, that could become an area of focus. If you have an analytical mind and are particularly adept with spreadsheets, you may spend more time on scheduling and documentation. More specifically, you will:
  • Assist in the day-to-day activities of the Mold Shops and CNC operations, and assist in the scheduling of masters and molds.
  • Assist the Project Manager (PM) in preparing, managing and updating project schedules.
  • Report project status on a weekly basis to the PM.
  • Prepare and present the weekly shipping meeting agenda.
  • Prepare, maintain and present computer generated reports as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with the PM.
  • Attend daily Operations meetings.
  • Assist in contract management, contract administration and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate with contractors' staff and ensure effective communication with all parties.
  • Recognize basic construction or engineering problems and find solutions.
  • Maintain project records and documentation.
  • Review and make corrections on inspector's daily reports for quantities, contractor's progress, and as-constructed data.
  • Read, interpret and review complex plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Assist the PM in monitoring internal project controls.

Why Quick Crete Products

Professional development
This position is a true résumé-builder. You'll work with and learn from a Project Manager with 20 years of experience, interact with knowledgeable professionals in multiple areas of the company, and communicate with a variety of external contacts. You'll learn lean principles and gain a bird's eye view of running a small business with a big footprint in the architectural arena. At the big construction firms you might be just another cog in the machine, but at QCP you'll play an important role and you'll have an opportunity to shine.

Diverse, intriguing projects
No two custom projects are the same and each will provide unique challenges and opportunities to grow. Jobs will range from a few thousand up to a million dollars, and projects may last 6 to 24 months. You'll be able to point to the results of your work in high profile venues, as you can see from the various pictures here. You can also see our work at the Sacramento Kings basketball arena, Marin City Health and Wellness Center, The Park at Irvine Spectrum, the Garden Grove Freeway (SR 22) Project, Diocesan Pastoral Center in Phoenix, and other locations. In addition, we expect to contribute to the new Los Angeles Rams stadium.

Service-driven company
Since our inception, QCP has remained a family owned and operated business. We value customer loyalty and we like to think a lot of that loyalty comes from the way we treat our customers. We do whatever it takes to meet a delivery date and our fleet of crane-equipped trucks ensures safety and convenience, so that customers get exactly what they need, where they need it, every time. You'll play an important role in delivering on this commitment.

The power of "together"
For you, "together" can mean the chance to put together an exciting career. At QCP, "together" also means collaborating across geographies and disciplines within the firm. And "together" means that we are partners with our clients. Our goals are linked, and their success is our success. "Together" means that we are engaged in the communities we serve -- we live there -- and are committed to their growth and development.

Growth mode
We have a strong P&L and we’re planning to double our revenue over the next few years. We’re in growth mode, and we’re looking for someone who is ready to dive in, drive projects forward, and help us realize this growth.

Great environment
You'll find that our team is close-knit and we enjoy working together. If working collaboratively as part of a team in a family-like environment appeals to you, we are ready to welcome you to our group.

Excellent compensation
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance programs; company-paid employee life insurance; a 401(k) plan; paid holidays, vacation days, and sick time.

Sophisticated wall caps, contemporary game tables, architectural trim and a menagerie of playful creatures, all in precast concrete, contribute significantly to the continuity and success of the project. Below: The City of Newport Beach renovated the public plaza at the Balboa Pier entrance, giving the pedestrian friendly Balboa Village a whole new look. Quick Crete's precast concrete products were chosen because, in addition to looking great, precast concrete provides superior durability in a marine environment.

Keys to Success

To excel in this role you will take a proactive approach to learning and getting up to speed quickly. As you've probably already determined, this role will require that you manage a lot of moving parts in a fast-paced environment. At first it may seem a little like drinking from a fire hose, but you'll receive training and coaching from seasoned professionals.

You'll need strong multitasking skills but you'll also be responsible for a large number of details. This will require you to strike a "yin-yang" balance to manage the details without getting bogged down in them, and ensure multiple aspects of multiple projects move steadily forward. Excellent organizational and follow-through skills will be essential.

In many ways you will act as a "hub" among a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and success will require strong interpersonal skills. Often you will be tasked with holding people responsible for deliverables and deadlines. Within QCP you will find that a collaborative, team-player approach works best. However, there will be times when you'll need to leverage your influencing skills, and on occasion you'll need to be assertive.

On the other side of this coin, you should be competent at achieving your individual goals independently. We understand that there will be a learning curve, and support never will be far away. At the same time, to master this role you should have the resourcefulness to work autonomously.
